Volunteer Opportunity

As an inclusive organization, Firefighters Without Borders Canada welcomes and all members of the BC Fire Service to become involved. We have a wide variety of opportunities for involvement, from gear sorting & packing days, fundraisers, committee work, and of course, international deployments.















Deployment Opportunity


Firefighters Without Borders Canada (FWB Canada) is currently accepting applications from fire service personnel interested in participating in the delivery of training abroad.

FWB Canada is a registered charity operating from within British Columbia to provide support to emergency service organizations in countries with a demonstrated need. Our goal is to provide a "helping hand up" to these organizations so that they can provide a higher level of emergency services to their communities.

We currently have opportunities for highly motivated individuals (up to 31) to participate in four upcoming international deployments in 2010:











A wide variety of fire service subjects will be delivered during these deployments. Training topics may include: ICS, RIT, Technical Rescue, Auto-Extrication, EMS, Fleet Maintenance, and others.

  • El Salvador, January 22-31, 2010 (Project #1001)

  • Paraguay, March 19 to April 2, 2010  (Project #1002)

  • Peru, April 10-18, 2010  (Project #1003)

  • Thailand, March 16-25, 2010  (Project #1004)
  • Adhere to FWB BC policies & procedures, as well as their own Fire Department code of conduct at all times.
  • Accept responsibility for cost of own airfare (accommodation, ground transportation & meals provided)
  • Follow prescribed training program as outlined by FWB BC.
  • Operate under the direction of FWB BC representatives
