Firefighters Without Borders Canada (FWB Canada) is a registered charity operating from within British Columbia to provide support to emergency service organizations in countries with a demonstrated need. Our goal is to provide a "helping hand up" to these organizations so that they can provide a higher level of emergency services to their communities.

We know that disasters can strike at any time and in any country; however, more than 90 percent of those affected by natural and human-caused disasters-earthquakes, fires, floods, hurricanes, landslides and volcanoes-live in developing countries. The poverty, high-density populations, and environmental degradation affecting most of the people in these countries make them the most vulnerable to disaster and least able to help themselves when it happens. The mission of Firefighters Without Borders BC is to assist the emergency service agencies of these nations to improve their ability to effectively

This organization grew out of a 12 year relationship that saw Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services donate all decommissioned turn-out gear to the National Fire Service of El Salvador. It is estimated by the El Salvadoran Fire Service that 70% of all PPE in use originated from Vancouver.

This initiative was founded by members of Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services who now comprise the majority of the Board of Directors. It is the intention of the Board of Directors of Firefighters Without Borders Canada to be an inclusive organization. Our hope is that we can count on the various Fire Departments, IAFF Locals, and businesses within the Lower Mainland and across BC to partner with us in future international aid projects.

To deliver aid in the form of equipment, training and/or financial support to fire departments, emergency services organizations, and fire fighters in countries or regions that have a demonstrated need.

To foster relationships with fire service organizations in other geographical regions of the world.

To promote public awareness of the need for assistance in other geographical areas of the world with regards to emergency services.

To develop relationships with other fire service organizations currently delivering aid to various geographical regions of the world.

Firefighters without Borders British Columbia (FWB Canada) is a non-profit organization relying on specific gift in kind (usually firefighting equipment) and funds for expenses such as shipping costs, interpreters, printed materials in specific languages and translation.

Firefighters Without Borders Canada (FWB Canada) is a non profit organization. Donations will receive a tax receipt.
